A. Shama Rao Foundation, Mangalore, was established in 1988 with avowed aim of imparting education which could mould the character of the students and make them responsible citizens of the country. It was the firm belief of the founder Adka Shama Rao that education is the tool to transform society. Today the foundation sponsors a plethora of educational institutions imparting education in Technology, Medical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Hotel Management, Hospitality Sciences, Pharmacy, Business Management, Nursing, Education and PUC. The foundation is ably led by Sri CA A Raghavendra Rao and Sri A Srinivas Rao. The Srinivas Group of Colleges is celebrating its 26th year of establishment.
A. Shama Rao Foundation’s Srinivas Group of Colleges celebrated its Founder’s Day on 14th February 2014 in their Valachil Campus, Mangalore.
Smt. Lakshmi Hande Puri., IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax, Mangalore was the chief guest of the Founder’s Day celebrations. She highlighted that india needs to breed a culture of innovation and encourage the out of the box thinking to be a successful society and nation in the competitive environment in her address to the gathering. She said the innovation should become our way of life and students should make best use of the facilities and opportunities available to them and keep phase with the changing dimensions of the technology. She congratulated the Srinivas Group of Colleges for its service to the society and said that the changing global environment is both the opportunity and challenge to the Group while imparting education to the young generation. She encouraged the students to consider government service as a career because the good governance is very important for the inclusive growth of the country.
Mr. K. Anantha Gowda, Deputy General Manager – HR, Personnel & Administration in Larsen & Toubro Ltd. Mysore was the guest of honour of the Founder’s Day function. He highlighted that students should select their career and profession carefully and love their profession to excel in life and career. He said that the interaction between educational institutions and industry is very important to bridge the gap between them and to bring out employable youth to the market. He said we should not forget the society at large and contribute to the society I whatever way it is possible. He encouraged continuous learning among all to be successful in all walks of life. He congratulated the Srinivas Group of Colleges for providing quality professionals to the industry and to the society at large.
Sri. P. Jayaram Bhat, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Karnataka Bank was honoured with A. Shama Rao Memorial Award 2014 for his contributions in the field of banking and employment generation in Dakshina Kannada District during the Founder’s Day celebrations of the Srinivas Group of Colleges.
Sri. U Hasanabba, Charmadi, Belthangadi Taluku, Dakshina Kannada District was honoured with A. Shama Rao Memorial Award 2014 for Outstanding Social Service for his selfless services he rendered in saving the lives of many passengers in the accident prone region of charmadi ghat during the Founder’s Day celebrations of the Srinivas Group of Colleges.
Sri. Sadananda, Lecturer, Government Pre-University College, Mulki was honoured with A. Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Teacher Award 2014 for his contributions in the field of Education during the Founder’s Day celebrations of the Srinivas Group of Colleges.
Outstanding students and members of the Faculties of Srinivas Group of Colleges were felicitated with gold medals during the occasion.
Sri. CA A. Raghvendra Rao., President, A. Shama Rao Foundation’s Srinivas Group of Colleges presided over the function. He, in his presidential address, highlighted that education is a continuous process and students should excel in whichever field they opt through continuous learning. “If someone can do, Why can’t I do” should be the attitude of the students, he said.
